Educator said that although all the kids parents can’t be involved, all the parents cam back the next day saying how amazing the program was. One child slept through the night for the first time.

Partners in children movement
Fun. Play. Imagination. That’s what physical activity should be for children in their early years. KIDDO will help you build your knowledge and skills as an Educator and help the children in your centre learn how to run, jump, balance, kick, throw and more, as well as develop the confidence to be active.

A little bit of background...
Physical literacy is a core element to building a healthy, active society. It provides kids with the confidence, motivation, skills and knowledge for continued lifelong active participation. In recent years children have become less physically active for a variety of reasons, both at home and at school, which is leading to more complex issues within society and our healthcare systems.
In the Active Healthy Kids Australia report card, when compared globally, current data indicates no change in that trend, with Australia receiving a D- grade in physical activity behaviours.
KIDDO Gippsland is the perfect resource to help you deliver the Early Years Learning Framework and build the confidence and motivation of your students at the same time. We provide:
- The tools, resources, and knowledge to build your confidence to deliver high quality physical literacy sessions
- Continued support and learning opportunities
- A focus on fun (both for the kids and you!)
- A proven model – it works! Our research shows that KIDDO improves both the confidence and skills of kids aged 3-8
- Physical Literacy Introduction
This includes 8 facilitated KIDDO Gippsland sessions focussing on 2 skills. These are run by qualified physical literacy staff members with the necessary knowledge to develop fundamental movement skills. Take Home resources will be provided for each child with the games, instructions and equipment on there to make the games easier to replicate in a home setting as well as upskilling knowledge on physical literacy and their available resources and importance. This program includes the Movement assessments, which measure the children’s ability of the two focus skills at the beginning and end of term and then provide a progress report including the percentile they sit in within national data.
2. Physical Literacy Development Program
This includes the Introductory Program incursions and more!
A 10 minute briefing will be provided for all educators before the facilitated sessions. Educators will receive a take home resource on the games and equipment, and instructions on each including technique pick up pointers and adjustments as per the skills of the group. For the Term, there will also be 3 workshops run for the Educators on physical literacy development and implementation for children. Paired with this there is constant support and follow up with educators, and an optional physical literacy certificate to complete for educators.
3. Physical Literacy Follow-up.
This includes the individual movement assessments for the children to be able to evaluate and measure change, as well as help for centre management in planning and policy creation to embed the program into the centres offerings and budget.

Linking KIDDO to the Socio-Ecological Health Prevention Model
KIDDO Gippsland, in a town near you!
KIDDO Gippsland is physical activity done differently and is a program every child and their parent can enjoy while learning. We aim to create confident and healthy individuals now and later in life, and invite all parents and caregivers along on the journey with us.
Our KIDDO Community sessions run for the duration of the term, and focus on two fundamental movement skills per term. We focus on these two skills through games based play, where we reinforce the skills throughout the range of games. These sessions finish with 15 minutes of free play with our equipment, following the research of the importance behind child led play. During the term we complete a movement assessment at the beginning and the end, measuring the child’s ability in the two focus skills. We are then able to provide a report at the end of term marking the child’s progression through those skills and their national percentile based on the database across the country.

With restrictions easing, it’s time to get together with like-minded individuals and get active again.
Beginning this week, Bionic Tennis is running Ladies Squad and Cardio casual tennis sessions in Longford, Stratford and Briagolong.
There is no need to book, cost is only $10 per session and beginners are very much welcome. Racquets are made available at each session so participants just need to come dressed in casual, comfortable active wear and bring a drink bottle. Feel free to bring the little ones along as well. For enquiries, contact Nicole Bauer 0409 692 852 or via email email@example.com.
#GippyGirlsCan commenced in early 2018 as a social media movement encouraging the women of Gippsland to get active together through community and sporting club lead physical activity programs. The campaign commenced as a localised amplification of the very successful This Girl Can- Victoria campaign that was implemented by VicHealth in 2017.
Gippy Girls Can emphasise community and provides women of all shapes, sizes, fitness levels and abilities to get active without the fear of judgement together. Over the last two years, we have built a local community of more than 3,000 women who have joined in our programs, events or who engage with us on social media in a range of ways.
GippSport would love feedback from our Gippy Girls and supporters, so that we can better design content, programs and services with you that will be for you.
During September & October, we have an online survey that we would love our Gippy Girls to complete, here is the link:
It will take you approximately 5-10 minutes, and you can contact Michelle Harris on firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to discuss the survey.
Mindful Mondays were a 12 week video series we ran on Facebook, in collaboration with We Are Latrobe.
These videos are roughly 10 minutes long, are include full body stretches you can do at your desk, and 3 minutes of mindful breathing exercises at the end. The aim is to spend some time on a Monday taking care of yourself and your mindset, and here at Make Your Move we thought they would be a great resource any day of the week. Enjoy!
